MASALA TEA


Masala tea is a flavoured tea with the aromatic spices. I always prefer this, when I have cold. But it is good to have a cup of tea anytime. It works like a magic. Once you start to like this tea, then you get addicted to this... stay cool and try this tea at your home... 

Preparation time: 5minutes 
Cooking time: 10minutes 
Serves: 2 

WHAT WE NEED:
milk- 1 cup 
Water- 1/2 cup 
Sugar- 1tbsp or as needed for you
Tea powder-2tsp 
Ginger- 1tsp (crushed)

For masala powder:
Cardamon- 3 
Cloves- 2 
Cinnamon stick- 1 
Peppercorns- 1tsp 

METHOD:
Grind the masala given under masala powder coarsely. 
Heat water in a silver bowl, add the grinded masala.
Add crushed ginger, tea powder. 
Let it boil for a minute. 
Add the milk. Leave it to boil for 5minutes. Add sugar.
Now filter the tea to a cup and relish it. 
SERVE HOT!!

NOTE: *you can add the dry ginger powder instead of adding crushed ginger. 
*can adjust the amount of pepper according to UR taste.

INSTANT RAGI VADAI




RAGI vadai is a healthy and nutritious snack. The grain’s protein content is comparable to that of rice. More importantly, this protein content is quite unique. Ragi is also a very rich source of minerals. Finger millet is also rich in antioxidants. Time to go.. check out the recipe and try it soooon........ 


Preparation time : 10minutes 
Cooking time : 20minutes 
Serves : 2 

WHAT WE NEED: 

Ragi flour- 1 cup
Rice flour- 2tbsp 
Drumstick leaves- 1/2 cup
Onion- 1 
Green chillies- 2 
Salt as needed 
Curry leaves - 1 spring 
Oil for frying 

METHOD: 

Take ragi flour, rice flour in a bowl. Add salt.
Add the chopped onions, green chillies, drumstick leaves.
Mix well. Sprinkle some water in it.
Mix with the flour. 
Heat a kadai, add oil in it.
Take some flour, flatten the flour in your palm.
Add the vadai in oil, fry till CRISPY.
READY TO SERVE!!

Rava kichadi


Rava khichadi is the breakfast recipe. With added veggies and the flavour of ghee. Here I tried it and going to share the recipe with you all with step by step pictures and instructions. 

Preparation time: 10minutes 
Cooking time: 15minutes 
Serves: 3- 4 

What we need:
Rava- 1cup 
Onion- 1 
Tomato- 1 
Green chillies- 2 
Ginger- 1 inch piece 
Garlic- 8 pods 
Veggies of ur choice- 1 cup 
Coriander leaves- handful 
Curry leaves- 1 spring 
Salt as needed 
Water- 3 cups 
Oil- 1tbsp 
Ghee- 1tbsp 
Whole garam masala spices 

METHOD:
Chop all the veggies of UR choice. I added carrot, beans, potato. You can also add peas, cauliflower. 
Chop ginger and garlic finely. 
Roast the rava for two minutes in medium heat. 
Heat a pan, add oil and ghee. Add in garam masala spices. 
Now add onions, green chillies, ginger, garlic, salt.
Then add in tomatoes and saute. Add in all the veggies, turmeric powder. 
Add water, let the veggies get cooked. 
Check whether the veggies get cooked. Add in rava with no lumps. 
Leave in low flame for few minutes. 
Switch off!!
Garnish with coriander leaves...
SERVE WITH CHUTNEY!!

Mint / pudhina thuvayal


Mint / Pudina thuvayal is the one which is common and easily made in few minutes with mint leaves and without coconut. We usually make this often at home. It goes well with hot rice. 
Let's learn how to prepare it easily...

What we need: 
Mint leaves/pudina leaves- 1cup 
Green chillies- 5 or 6 
Ginger- 1 inch piece 
Urad dal - 2tbsp 
Tamarind- small lemon sized 

For seasoning: 
Oil- 1tbsp 
Urad dal- 1tsp 
Mustard seeds- 1tsp 
Cumin- 1tsp 

METHOD:
Heat a pan, add oil and fry urad dal.
Take it away in a plate. Now add other ingredients, mint leaves, ginger, green chillies and saute it. 
Switch off the flame. Let the ingredients to cool. 
Add salt, grind all the ingredients to a smooth paste. 
Heat a pan, add oil and add ingredients given under for seasoning. 
Let it sizzle, now add the grinded mixture.
Mix well and switch off the flame. 
Spicy mint thuvayal is ready!!!

Vegetable kurma without Coconut

Vegetable kurma is a gravy with variety of vegetables blended with spices. Some ppl prefer without adding coconut in the gravy. Coconut gives rich flavour to the gravy, should substitute coconut with other ingredient and should bring out the flavour of kurma..

Preparation time: 10minutes 
Cooking time: 30minutes 
Serves: 4 

What we need :
Onion- 1 
Tomato- 1 
Green chilli- 1 
Ginger garlic paste- 2tsp 
Veggies - 1cup (UR choice) 
Soaked Channa- 1cup 
Turmeric powder- 1tsp 
Chilli powder- 2tsp 
Garam masala - 1tsp 
Whole garam masala spices
Salt 
Oil

To grind: 
Cashews- 6 or 7 
Fennel - 1tsp 
Water as needed 

METHOD: 
Boil the soaked Channa in pressure cooker. Grind the ingredients given under to grind as a paste.
Chop all the veggies. Heat a pan, add oil, add the whole garam masala spices. 
Add in onions, green chilli,saute.
Add in ginger garlic paste, tomatoes.
Add in turmeric powder and all the veggies chopped, saute and add red chilli powder, garam masala. 
Add in water and leave the veggies to get cooked.
Add Channa in the gravy and now add the grinded mixture in it, let it boil.
Switch off the flame..
