VADA CURRY

Vada curry is the famous side dish for idly, dosa.. making vada curry at home is easy.. Bengal gram is used as a main ingredient.. I prepare vada curry in 2 ways. One is grinding the soaked dal and steam it in idly pot, second one is frying the grinded dal like vadai and put it into the gravy. Here is the easy recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Check out.. try it and give it feedbacks!!

Preparation time: 15minutes
Cooking time: 30minutes
Serves: 4 

What we need: 
Bengal gram- 1cup
Onions- 2 
tomato- 1 
Ginger - 1 piece
Garlic pods- few 
Green chillies- 3 
Curry leaves - 1 string
Coriander leaves- handful
Red chilli powder- 1tsp
Turmeric powder- 1tsp
Garam masala- 1tsp
Salt as needed
Oil for frying vadai

For seasoning:
Oil as needed
Whole garam masala spices 

Method:
Chop the onions and tomato. Chop the ginger, garlic and green chillies finely..
Grind the soaked dal and fry it in oil as vadai. 


Now heat a pan and add oil, add whole garam masala spices and add the chopped onions saute, then now add finely chopped ginger,garlic and green chillies. 

Now add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and garam masala powder. 

Add red chilli powder, salt, and water, bring it to boil for few minutes..

Crush the vadai into small pieces.. Now add in the fried and crushed vadai to the pan. Let it boil for few minutes till mushy..
